Walkabout Foundation partners with L’Oréal East Africa
At the beginning of August, Walkabout Foundation partnered with L’Oréal East Africa to hold a Sports Day in Nairobi, Kenya, as a part of the L’Oréal Citizen Day programme. This event aimed to raise awareness about mobility disabilities and highlight the importance of inclusivity.
The day brought together the Walkabout Kenya team, L’Oréal employees, and Friends of L’Oréal. The event featured various team-building exercises and wheelchair-friendly activities, including sitting volleyball matches with the Nanyuki sitting volleyball team. Every activity was designed to be inclusive, reflecting our belief that “it’s not just mobility, it’s possibility”.
The event was a huge success, raising over £5,700 for our projects in East Africa.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the L’Oréal East Africa team for their initiative and for supporting our mission. Together, we are changing lives in East Africa by restoring dignity, freedom and independence to people with mobility disabilities.
