Joao Pateira’s 800 Kilometer tour through Spain

I first did the Camino de Santiago in 2011 and I recall someone telling me that “If you do it once you will end up coming back.” And so it happened that I went back in 2013 and 2016.
When Jeroen contacted me with the idea for this project I immediately said yes.
Over the years I have worked with people with different types of disabilities. Having been a guide for blind athletes and witnessing first-hand how having the right conditions can bring out the potential in people, I believe the ultimate goal of this project has the potential to change lives.
And what greater deed can a person aspire to than to create the conditions to change someone’s life for better?

Jocelyn Weiss’s 2019 Virgin London Marathon

This year, I have set myself the challenge of not only running the world famous London Marathon, but also fundraising £3,000 for Walkabout Foundation!

£3,000 is the equivalent of 12 life-changing wheelchairs for people in desperate need in the developing world.

Please help me in reaching my target this year, and help Walkabout Foundation in it’s mission to change the world of mobility disabilities, one person, one wheelchair at a time.

Thank you for all of your support!

Ohad and Emma Greenfeld’s London Walkabout 2011

Join us for a 15 kilometer walk on Saturday June 18th at 10:00 am (with an option of doing a shorter 5k walk) around Hyde Park, Green Park, and St. James’s Park to raise money to donate wheelchairs to people in need in the developing world.

The walk will commence at Hyde Park’s Band Stand. Email [email protected] to register. You will receive all details in an email once you’ve registered.

It’s free to join the walk but we encourage participants to fundraise any amount they can, whether its £200 pounds (or $300 dollars) for an entire wheelchair or just a few pounds for wheelchair parts. KX GYM is our headline sponsor, which means 100 percent of all funds raised go directly to the cause. Here’s what the money you raise can buy:

£10 = front wheel
£21 = back rest
£30 = main frame
