Polina Kovaleva’s 2018 Virgin London Marathon

This will be my very first time running for Walkabout Foundation!

Although I am a seasoned runner, the biggest challenge will be to fundraise £3,000 – which is the equivalent of 12 life-changing wheelchairs for people in desperate need in the developing world.

Please help me in my quest to raise £3,000!

Thank you for all of your support!

Peter and Annie’s London Walkabout 2011

Join us for a 15 kilometer walk on Saturday June 18th at 10:00 am (with an option of doing a shorter 5k walk) around Hyde Park, Green Park, and St. James’s Park to raise money to donate wheelchairs to people in need in the developing world.

The walk will commence at Hyde Park’s Band Stand. Email londonwalkabout@thewalkaboutfoundation.org to register. You will receive all details in an email once you’ve registered.

It’s free to join the walk but we encourage participants to fundraise any amount they can, whether its £200 pounds (or $300 dollars) for an entire wheelchair or just a few pounds for wheelchair parts. KX GYM is our headline sponsor, which means 100 percent of all funds raised go directly to the cause. Here’s what the money you raise can buy:

£10 = front wheel
£21 = back rest
£30 = main frame

Katharina Tuerke’s 800 Kilometer tour through Spain

I’m 29 years old and I work as a police officer at the riot police in Germany. In 2013 my love for the Camino de Santiago was born when I walked it the first time. Since that moment I walked the Camino or pieces of the Camino every year. It somehow became a part of my life. I’m impressed by the easy way of traveling and by meeting people from all over the world. I feel it as a gift that I have the health and the energy to walk only with my backpack through this beautiful landscape, threw the world!! I want to help and strengthen people who are not able to move by themselves, to see the world on their own way, with their own eyes! Everybody should have the chance to be independent, especially by the way of moving!
