I’m running the LA Marathon on March 15th, on behalf of The Walkabout Foundation. Please support me!
I’m not running to compete with myself or anyone…I just want to get through it uninjured and spend those 4+ hours running (or hobbling) towards the finish line, reminding myself that I’m alive and that GIVING BACK is truly one of the greatest pleasures in life. I’m so very grateful for my gorgeous life, let’s help others be grateful for theirs!
Walkabout Foundation is an international charity that focuses on funding research to find a cure for paralysis and donating wheelchairs to people in need around the world. It was co-founded by my close friends, siblings Luis and Carolina Gonzalez-Bunster, in August 2009 after Luis suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident when he was 18 years old, which left him paralyzed from the chest down. Together, the siblings launched the foundation with an 870 kilometer walk along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, and Luis became the first person in the history of Spain to cross the entire country using only the strength of his two arms.
