Walter’s Story

Meet Walter, a 12 year old boy from Haiti!

He has a neurological disorder, and in turn requires a wheelchair to move around. Walter lives with a group of other special needs children and their caregivers. He is very happy and energetic, he loves to smile, clap, and play with the other children. When Walkabout met Walter, he was using a wheelchair that was not appropriate for his height and his hyperactivity, which meant he was unable to move around in it safely.

Now that he has received a custom fitted wheelchair from Walkabout, he can go outside everyday and visit church on Sundays. Thanks to the security strap on the chair, he can be super active and stay stable!
